WhatsApp Setup
WhatsApp connects via QR code — the same way you link WhatsApp Web or a second device. No API tokens or Facebook developer account needed.
How it works
Your assistant links to your WhatsApp account as a paired device. When someone sends you a message, your assistant automatically replies on your behalf. It only responds to incoming messages — it does not initiate conversations or message your contacts.
Steps
- Go to your assistant's setup wizard (Step 2: Messaging) and choose WhatsApp
- Click Enable WhatsApp — this installs the WhatsApp plugin on your assistant
- A QR code will appear. Open WhatsApp on your phone and go to Settings → Linked Devices → Link a Device
- Scan the QR code with your phone. Your assistant is now linked.
Testing it
Have a friend (or a second phone) send a message to your WhatsApp number. Your assistant should reply within a few seconds. You can also test it from the control panel console without needing WhatsApp at all.
Re-linking
If the connection drops (e.g. you unlinked the device from your phone, or your assistant was restarted), go to your assistant's settings, open the Messaging card, select WhatsApp, and scan a new QR code.
Ban risk warning: Meta aggressively bans accounts that use unofficial automation. Your WhatsApp number could be permanently banned with no appeal. Use a secondary number you can afford to lose — never use your primary personal WhatsApp number. There is no guarantee your account will stay active.
