Discord Setup

Messaging integrations are optional. Your assistant works without one — you can chat with it directly from the control panel console.
Easy — Low ban risk

Discord encourages bots with dedicated registration and permissions. It's straightforward to set up.

Steps

  1. Go to the Discord Developer Portal and create a new application
  2. Go to the Bot section and create a bot
  3. Under Privileged Gateway Intents, turn on Message Content Intent — this lets the bot read messages
  4. Copy the bot token
  5. Go to your assistant's setup wizard (Step 2: Messaging), choose Discord, and paste the token
  6. Use the invite link that appears to add the bot to your server

Testing it

Make sure the bot has been invited to your server. Go to any channel it has access to and send a message. It should respond within a few seconds.

Tip: If the bot doesn't respond, double-check that Message Content Intent is turned on. Without it, the bot can't see what people type.
